Tomorrow is Dhanteras (Dhanatrayodashi), the festival to celebrate the birth of Godess Lakshmi. What we have seen is Laksmi ( The godess of welth ) overrules all other gods when the time for worship comes. On Dhanteras people purchase Gold , property, new cars etc to celebrate the Lakshmis birth day.
During churning the kshirsagar ( the sea of milk) Godess lakshmi emerged from the sea. Dhanvantari also emerged from the Sea holding the 'Amrut kumbh' in hand. The meaning of Dhanvanatari is Doctor of Gods. Its human tendency to ignore health and go after the wealth.
The saying Health is wealth is only recited in school is completely ignored.. isnt it??
